Salvation Army in Carson City hiring staff for youth programs
The Salvation Army in Carson City has long run before- and after-school programs for local children. However, a staffing shortage has put them in jeopardy. According to The Salvation Army’s Captain Holly Beeson, six people are needed to keep the programs going.
“Both our Morning Latchkey and our After-School programs are much needed services to the community, as they provide extremely affordable before- and after-school care for parents who are working during those hours and might not be able to pay the full price of other childcare programs,” Captain Beeson said.
Children in the programs have time to receive help with homework. They also get to play games, create crafts, engage in team building exercises and play outside when the weather is nice.
These are paid positions. They can be applied for by following this link to Indeed.com. Those with questions concerning the positions and how to apply for them are encouraged to call the Corps offices at (775) 887-9120.
The Salvation Army is seeking four new staff members for its Morning Latchkey program to oversee children at Bordewich Bray and Empire elementary schools from 6:15 to 8:30 a.m., Monday through Friday.
Two additional staff members are needed for the after-school program at The Salvation Army Corps offices from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
