Carson City Motor Unit's 18th Extreme Motor Challenge open to all advanced riding competitors
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office 18th Annual Extreme Motor Officer Training Challenge will be held on Sept. 9, 10, and 11, 2021 at Mills Park. The event is open to current certified motor officers and advanced skilled riders. Motor officers will be training, riding, and discussing riding techniques with various motor instructors. This training event is designed to help motor officers enhance their riding skills through challenging skill patterns with camaraderie and some competition.
The Carson City Motor Unit competition is open to all advanced riding competitors. Those wanting to participate must assume all risks attendant to such activities, to include motor vehicle accidents on public streets and/or on private property as well as any and all damage to equipment, either personal, municipal, or third party owned.

Those interested but not sure can meet the Motor Unit on Sept. 9 at Mills Park, sign the waiver and riders will have an opportunity to test the course to determine if they want to participate in the challenge.
September 9: Riders will meet at Mills Park in Oxoby Loop starting at 8 a.m. Traditionally this is a travel day, however the course will be open for practice. Trainers will be on site for low key instruction.
September 10: Practice will continue in Oxoby Loop with Trainers on site for one-on-one help. Lunch will be provided. After lunch riders will get a time qualifying run to determine rider class and starting position.
September 11: Training and competitiveness continues with events starting at 8 a.m. and running into the afternoon. Officers will compete in timed runs on the main course. An award banquet for the riders, families and volunteers will be held at the banquet room of the Casino Fandango beginning at 1800 hours. There will be a live band “The 580 Express” performing classic hit songs.
