All Veterans Honor Guard of Northern Nevada looks for new Carson City area members
The All Veterans Honor Guard of Northern Nevada is looking for new members to join our ranks. We operate through the American Legion High Desert Post 56, Carson City.
The full complement of the Honor Guard consists of a Commander, Chaplain, 1 Fire Commander, 7 Riflemen, 4 Flag Folders, a Bugler, and a Bosin Piping (if the deceased is former Navy or Marine Corp). Rifleman often do double duty filling one of the other positions when required.
The Honor Guard is proud of our professionalism and reverence at a ceremony and we desire to continue this tradition.
CERTIFICATION: As of October 2007, The All Veterans Honor Guard of Northern Nevada was certified by the Department of Defense and conferred on us by officers of the Nevada National Guard. It should be your goal in this organization to become certified.
"YOUR COMMITMENT" First and Foremost! We are looking for veterans who can fit their life around the call to duty. Not 100% of the time, but as much as is possible. We average less than one ceremony per week, but we do sometimes have multiples in a day or week.
1) Must be a veteran.
2) Observe 2 burial ceremonies, before ordering a uniform.
3) You may be asked to provide a DD-214.
