Thursday Coffee Connections at Adams Hub features Mike Smith: '6 impactful strategies on the importance of investing in yourself'
Mike Smith, Director of Business Development with NV Production House, LLC in Carson City and a retired educator and high school principal of 33 years will take a deep dive this Thursday at Adams Hub by discussing six impactful strategies on the importance of investing in yourself.
Those steps are 1. Invest in yourself; 2. Manage choices; 3. Pursue professionalism; 4.Assess and address; 5. Communicate with clarity; 6. Transition from reactive to proactive.
As busy professionals we all encounter tough decisions one absolute certainty is we can manage choices, but we can’t always manage time. Desires dictate our priorities, priorities shape our choices, and choices determine our actions. You are responsible for your own professional development not your company.
According to Smith, the coordinator and moderator of Ideas on Tap, a monthly series of community based interactive conversations believes learning to invest in yourself may be the most profitable investment you ever make. It yields not only future returns, but often a current payoff as well. Mike an accomplished saxophonist, and lead singer for the South Lake Tahoe, CA, based band Moons of Jupiter. He and his wife Maggie resides in Carson City with their Shih Tzu, Louie.
I encourage all who can to attend Thursday, August 19 Coffee Connection which begins at 9 am at the Adam’s Hub 111 West Proctor Street in Carson City. If you’re interested in getting ahead in your career, this maybe a great place to start to invest in yourself, and be successful, productive, and satisfied is to place a priority on investing in both personal and professional growth.
