Carson City-based Pets of the Homeless celebrates 10th year as national nonprofit
On Friday, July 27, 2018 Pets of the Homeless staff and more than 50 guests celebrated the 10 year milestone anniversary at their headquarter offices in Carson City.
In honor of The Patricia Sharon Trust, who named Pets of the Homeless in her estate, her legacy will be remembered with the expansion of staff and office space. Homeless calling from across the country asking for assistance with veterinary care for their ill or injured pets have increased with over 110 cases on average per month.
Pets of the Homeless is a volunteer-based organization, with a simple mission — to feed and provide wellness clinics and emergency veterinary care to pets of homeless people in the United States and Canada. Pets of the homeless are non-judgmental, provide comfort and an emotional bond of loyalty to their owners. In some cases, they provide the homeless with protection and keep them warm.
