Carson City family movie night at Mills Park features live jazz ahead of movie showing
The Carson City Classic Cinema Club, Garrett Lepire, and Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space are once again teaming up to present a schedule of free summer outdoor family movie nights at Mills Park. This Friday, July 29, will be the viewing of "Soul," a 2020 computer-animated film produced by Pixar Animation Studios that won two Academy Awards.
David Bugli and Friends will be performing jazz music before the film, from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m.
IMDB describes the plot of the movie as this: "After landing the gig of a lifetime, a New York jazz pianist suddenly finds himself trapped in a strange land between Earth and the afterlife." The film received two Oscars, Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures (Original Score) and Best Animated Feature Film.
Bring your favorite chairs, blankets and picnic fare to stake out your space early. Films begin at sunset. Mills Park is located at 1111 E. William Street, Carson City. Movies are shown near the skate park.
The Carson City Classic Cinema Club is a non-profit organization and 100 percent of proceeds go to youth arts and community programs. Our regular schedule of classic films is shown on the first Tuesday of every month at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 511 W. King St., Carson City.
