Thursday Coffee Connections at Adams Hub features Randy Peyser: 'Elevator Pitches That Convert'
If your elevator pitch is not taking your business to the top floor, attend this Thursday's Coffee Connections, which features an interactive session, "Elevator Pitches That Convert” at The Studio at Adams Hub in Carson City.
CEO, national networker, and word expert, Randy Peyser, is the guest speaker at the July 1 discussion, which begins at 9 a.m. at Adams Hub, 111 West Proctor Street in Carson City. The public is invited to this and all Thursday Coffee Connections. The meetings are free.
Whether attending an in-person or online networking event, most people resort to 30-second elevator pitches that result in the passing of business cards. No further engagement results: no 1 on 1 meetings occur and no sales are made.
The majority of elevator pitches are predictable; the recipient of the message tunes out right after they’ve heard the person’s profession. For example, everyone knows what a realtor, mortgage broker, insurance agent, financial advisor, life coach, or business consultant, etc. does. So, as soon as those fateful words are uttered – “I’m a realtor, mortgage broker, life coach, etc.” — the listener searches through their memories and files you along with everyone else they know who does exactly what it is you do. Within a day, you are most likely no longer on their radar.
If you are one among many in a profession, you’ve got to stand out in that swirling sea of competitors. In this inspiring and insightful presentation, Randy will share:
• A 3-word sales pitch Randy created that led to a 6-figure book-deal
• A pitch that landed a 5-year-old $400 for his “business”
• A pitch from a teen that caused men to line up like ducks in a row and open their wallets
• How to perform “random acts of chutzpah” to open the door to new opportunities
• A “golden retriever” strategy to increase your effectiveness at networking events
• The magic question to ask at conferences to draw the right people to you
• How to overcome “the hiccup of hesitation” when you are selling your services
• Subtle cues and words that encourage sales
Randy Peyser is a master of the pitch. She knows all the letters from A-Z and uses them in varying combinations to create words that bring the brilliance in you out. She writes marketing materials, speaker sheets, press releases and articles, and performs “copywriting resuscitation services” to bring new life to old worn out text.
Additionally, Randy is the CEO of Author One Stop, Inc. Her company edits and ghostwrites books, and she pitches manuscripts to publishers. Her author’s books have been Wall Street Journal and USA Today Bestsellers, featured in TIME, Cosmo, and Oprah Magazines; in airport bookstores, big box stores, and 5-star luxury hotels; and on Hallmark TV and Daily Mail TV. Many have won national awards, and others have been optioned for Hollywood film. www.AuthorOneStop.com.
