Douglas County Historical Society features talk on early Gardnerville Japanese family, business
Generations of Carson Valley residents knew the Nishikida family as owners of a popular laundry on Main Street, Gardnerville. Dave Nishikida will trace his family roots as members of the Samurai in Japan through their struggle during World II, and finally their successful business years in early Gardnerville.
The talk will be held Thursday, June 10 at Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1744 US Highway 395 N, Gardnerville. Doors Open 6:30 p.m. Lecture Begins at 7 p.m. The price is $3 at the door, DCHS Members and members of our local historical societies free. Call 775-782-2555 for more information.
