Ceremony Monday: Native American War Veteran Memorial at the Old Stewart Indian Cemetery
A Memorial Day ceremony will be held Memorial Day, Monday, May 30 to pay tribute in recognition of fallen Native American war veterans who have died. The event is presented by the 630 Silverstate Marine Corps League Detachment of Carson City.
This marks the Detachment's 39th year honoring the fallen at the Old Stewart Indian Cemetery in Carson City. The memorial recognizes and honors deceased Native American veterans who have served in the U.S. Military. Flags will be at half mast.
The ceremony commences at 10 a.m.
The Old Stewart Indian Cemetery is located at 111 Old Clear Creek Avenue. Take the eastbound turn lane at the Bodine's Casino/Costco stop light on northbound U.S. 395, then to northbound Frontage Rd. to eastbound Old Clear Creek Ave. The cemetery is located on the south side of Old Clear Creek Ave.
