Carson City donates nearly 27K pounds of food during postal 'Stamp Out Hunger' food drive
The results are in for the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. The generosity of the Carson City community resulted in almost 27,000 pounds of food collected in one day.
Thank you to everyone who donated, the letter carriers who picked up the food and volunteers from Advocates to End Domestic Violence, FISH and the Ron Wood Family Center who helped to unload the donations from the mail trucks.
These donations are very important to local food banks who depend on this food to help families through the summer months. Thank you again to all who participated and I look forward to next year's event.
