Carson City Park Ranger-led programs in March feature Bear Walk and Bird Walk
Every month, the Carson City Park Rangers offer various Ranger-Led programs that include educational opportunities, historical fun, events, and exciting adventures. All programs are offered for free and take place in one of the many Carson City parks and open space areas.
Online Registration is required so Park Rangers have a proper head count. All programs are subject to cancellation due to Park Ranger availability; registered participants will be notified. You can find more information about each program by clicking here.
Bear Walk
Join the Park Rangers for an educational walk all about the black bears! While enjoying a walk along the paved paths around Long Ranch Park, you will gain a deeper understanding of these fascinating creatures and the ecosystem they call home.
The hike is considered "Easy" under the IMBA Trail Rating system. Expect flat terrain and possible icy sections along a 2-mile hike. If snow is present on the trail system, snowshoes will be offered to all participants who registered online before the program. Be sure to dress for the weather and bring plenty of water. This program is weather dependent.
