Tickets available for Carson City Lions Club 23rd annual community crab feed March 23
The Carson City Host Lions is pleased to announce the 23rd annual community Crab Feed will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Fuji Park Hall.
The Lions, with the help of Celebrity Chef Jonathan Chapin and his team, will serve up Dungeness crab, roasted beef tri-tip, salad, bread, and ice cream. There will be music, dancing, raffle prizes and a silent auction to raise funds for Lions' projects.
Chef Chapin from Reno Recipes works with families in need and other Northern Nevada nonprofits, and is featured every Tuesday morning on KOLO Channel 8 Morning Break with a segment called KOLO Cooks.
Tickets are $75 per person and may be purchased by calling or texting Lion Terry Rubald at 775-720-9005 or contacting a Lion member. Fuji Park Hall is located at 701 Old Clear Creek Road, Carson City. The event begins at 6 p.m.
Also helping the Lions to serve the meal are members of the Carson High School Band.
Carson City Host Lions have raised thousands of dollars since the Club first started in 1932 to support numerous projects, including vision preservation and vision screening programs, high school scholarships and other youth and senior citizen services.
The Lions also engage in environmental projects and hunger relief endeavors.
“Donations received from the Crab Feed will allow Lions to help people less fortunate in our community to get eye exams and glasses; support high school scholarships, Kids’ Fishing Day, and several other charitable causes in Carson City," said Terry Rubald, Crab Feed Chair. "Lions members thank everyone who contributes to this important work. You are truly helping Lions make a difference in our community.”
