Beloved Carson City Teacher Richard Scott Dies
Richard Scott, a Carson City teacher for 25 years, died Friday, February 19, 2016, of respiratory failure. He was 69. Richard taught English and reading at Eagle Valley Middle School for 23 years. He cared for all of his students and tried to teach them to be thinkers and to relate their emotions to literature. He was active in Boy Scouts, 4-H Guide Dogs for the Blind, Kiwanis, and shooting sports.
He loved fishing and camping. His latest message for his former students is to QUIT SMOKING!
Memorial services will be announced soon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association.
