Indian Cooking class in Reno by TMCC open to public
Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) is offering class on “Indian Cooking” in Reno, which is open to the public.
All are welcome to sign-up for “Indian Cooking” (FB124C/24972), four sessions class taught from 06-00 to 07-30 pm on Tuesdays, starting February 20, at Damonte Ranch High School, Room 117 (CA), 10500 Rio Wrangler Parkway, Reno 89521. Tuition is $79 plus a $20 materials cost.
Besides other things, this class will also teach Chicken Tikka Masala, reportedly one of the United Kingdom's most popular dishes; and Halwa, a favorite dessert in India and other countries.
Indian cuisine reflects about 5,000-years history of various groups & cultures interacting within the subcontinent. Staple foods eaten today in India are said to have been cultivated there since around 6,200 BCE.
