Sierra Nevada Forums to feature 'Resources and Creative Ideas for Healthy Aging' at Carson City meeting
The Sierra Nevada Forums in partnership with the American Association of University Women Capital Branch and the League of Women Voters of Northern Nevada will host “Aging: Everybody’s Doing It: Resources and Creative Ideas for Healthy Aging” on March 12, 2024 at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 511 W. King Street in Carson City.
Doors open at 5:30 pm and the program starts at 6 pm. The forums are co-sponsored by the Nevada Appeal. This is Sierra Nevada Forums’ eighth season of providing free community forums on topics of current interest.
The March 12 forum features a discussion with five panelists who lead organizations that provide existing services and are exploring future options for healthy aging in Carson City.
The panel moderator will be Anne Macquarie. Presenters include Dr. Colleen Lyons, Sage Village Exploratory Committee, William Palmer, Executive Council, AARP Nevada, Lisa Pohll, Outreach Coordinator, Connections Carson City, Molly Walt, Executive Director, Nevada Rural Counties Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), and Courtney Warner, Executive Director, Carson City Senior Center. Each presenter will speak for about 10 minutes, with time reserved for written questions submitted by members of the audience.
Future forums are scheduled for April 9, 2024 on Carson City Roads and May 14, 2024 on the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) funding in Nevada. For more information, check the SNF website: http://www.sierranevadaforums.com.
