Storm clouds hug Carson City
Storm clouds hug the mountains Wednesday morning over Carson City, making way for a weak weather system that will move through the region bringing another round of light snow showers to the Sierra.
The best chances for accumulation will be in the Sierra into northeast California, where up to 3 inches are possible for higher elevations. Lower valleys of northeast California could see up to an inch, according to the weather service.
The system largely falls apart into western Nevada, with much more spotty coverage. Forecasters say snowfall will be hit or miss and accumulations under an inch, predominately north of I-80.
Otherwise, we can expect breezy winds to continue today, decreasing this evening. Showers will also taper off this evening with dry conditions for the remainder of the week.
