Black History Month Essay Contest
The Northern Nevada Cultural Foundation,a 501-(c-3) in partnership with the Alpha Nu Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. is sponsoring a Black History Month essay contest. The contest is open to all students attending Carson City schools in grades 6-12. This year's theme is "Black Resistance: Creating Communities of Care and Collaboration."
Essay submission should include relevance to the theme, comprehensiveness, and originality be 750 words in length, typed 12-point font, double space.
Both 6-8 grade winner; and 9-12 grade winner will receive $50.00 each. February 5th is the deadline to submit your essay to smithm410@yahoo.com.
Please include your name, grade, schools' name, parent(s) name and phone number. Each grade division winner will read their winning essay during the 2nd Annual Capital City Black History Program Thursday, February 9 at 6:00 PM at Western Nevada College Library-Rotunda.
