A 61-year-old man was arrested on Thursday at 3:40 a.m. for a felony charge of possession of 15.9 grams of methamphetamine and a misdemeanor charge for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Comstock resident artist program pauses residencies for now

Silver City, Nevada - Nearly 10 years ago, my husband Theo McCormick and I launched the Resident Artist Program in Silver City, Nevada. We were inspired by Frances Melhop’s brilliant artist-in-residence program at St. Mary’s Art Center in Virginia City, and Capital City Arts Initiative’s visiting artist programs.

Early detection is key in the fight against breast cancer, so access to screenings is critically important. To accommodate women who are due for a mammography screening, we continually criss-cross the state and stop in communities of all size. This Thursday, we will be parked in Carson City at the Sierra Nevada Health Center, located at 3325 Research Way, from 7:40 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.

The Safety Consultation and Training Section of the State of Nevada's Division of Industrial Relations and the Recovery Friendly Workplace Initiative, a program offered by the Foundation for Recovery, are joining together to recognize the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Safe + Sound Week beginning Monday, Aug. 7 through Sunday, Aug. 13.
