Witnesses Return to Knocking on Doors

Jehovah’s Witnesses will resume their trademark door-to-door ministry beginning September 1. The two and-a-half-year suspension of the work will end just in time for the launch of a global campaign featuring an interactive program for Bible study.

Beer and Brats at the Blue Bull this Saturday

This Saturday the Carson City Moose Lodge 2709 and the Blue Bull will be hosting a fundraising event to support Moose charities and local community project. Judge temporary suspends case in Fernley kidnapping, killing of Naomi Irion

A rural justice of the peace has suspended proceedings in justice court for a man accused of kidnapping and killing a Fernley teenager until a state judge can decide whether he should undergo a competency examination.

Western Nevada College recognizes 94 students on summer Dean's List

Western Nevada College is pleased to announce that nearly 100 students have qualified for the 2022 Summer Dean’s List.

To earn this recognition during the summer session, 94 students attained a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and completed six units of classes or more. Students achieving the academic honor are:

Carson City BMX had scheduled its annual Race for Life for this Sunday, August 28. The race was to be held last month but was postponed due to air quality concerns. This race raises money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Nevada law enforcement targets impaired drivers in end of summer statewide campaign

As Northern Nevada residents make plans to enjoy the end of summer, the Nevada Highway Patrol asks that you make sure those plans include alternatives to driving under the influence. From August 24 through Sept. 7, law enforcement agencies participating in Joining Forces will be on the lookout for the dangerous driving behaviors of impaired drivers.
