A police chase was brought to an end near the rifle range on Friday morning after multiple units from several agencies chased a man both in vehicles and on foot.

Bently Ranch is accepting burnt vegetation from the Tamarack Fire at their compost yard (1089 Stockyard Road, Minden, NV).
Bently Ranch has agreed to accept the burned vegetation from Douglas Disposal at no charge.

COVID-19 positivity rate increases 78 percent in Douglas County this week, Lyon County reports highest percent increase of active cases

On Thursday, Carson City Health and Human Services issued their weekly COVID-19 report, which tracks data such as test positivity rates, active cases, recoveries, and more within the four quad-counties of Carson City, Douglas County, Lyon County, and Storey County.
Last week, there were 99 new cases throughout the quad counties, which rose this week to 162, a 63 percent overall increase.

24-hour casino ‘Red Dragon’ under construction inside the Carson Mall

Construction is underway at the Carson Mall for a new business, Red Dragon, which appears to be a new 24-hour casino.
It is unknown when the Red Dragon will be open for business, but signs on the door promise 24 hour gaming, Keno, Video Poker, and the like.

This year has been a particularly dry one thanks to a combination of record-high temperatures throughout the region as well as a dry winter that left little snowpack for spring and summer.
Because of that, as many readers will have noticed, our local creeks, wetlands, ponds and lakes are dwindling in water.

A 31-year-old man was arrested for suspicion of using false information to avoid prosecution, a felony, and other offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
