I Love Carson City’s Memorial Day Weekend Event Summary

The early Farmers Market at Musser and Nevada offers the perfect finishing touches to any picnic or bar-be-que. It’s all aboard for train lovers: the V&T begins its runs to Virginia City this weekend and the historic Glenbrook Engine is all steamed up at the Railroad Museum. Cadillac Cafe celebrated its grand opening Thursday afternoon, introducing Carson City to yet another dining option for locals and visitors alike.
Railroad Reality Week

Experience what it was like during the golden age of railroading. Become an integral part of the preservation in-progress.
As part of the crew you will help get a train over the hill and back again safely. In the shop, you will have hands on experience maintaining the locomotives and cars. It is dirty, oily, greasy work. Without it, trains don't run. As part of the track crew, you will see up close what it takes to keep the railroad running.
Pony Express Limited at the Nevada Northern Railway

Tickets include a program, specially printed envelopes and stamps. The program will feature a map of the Pony Express and highlight the stations in Nevada, of which a few still exist.
In fact, Nevada’s Sand Springs Station is considered the best-preserved Pony Express Station still in existence.

Father’s Day at the Nevada Northern Railway

Treat dad to a trip aboard an historic passenger coach pulled by a locomotive. Passengers will enjoy a ride through remarkable Robinson Canyon. Trains depart at 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
