Fire up that grill, Carson City, we’ve got the perfect weather to kick off the summer. The early Farmers Market at Musser and Nevada offers the perfect finishing touches to any picnic or bar-be-que. It’s all aboard for train lovers: the V&T begins its runs to Virginia City this weekend and the historic Glenbrook Engine is all steamed up at the Railroad Museum. All of this as the century-old steam engine is pulling your train through the great geological "museum" right outside the window of your coach.

Silver Oak Golf Club ups ante on Carson City dining with new Cadillac Cafe

The Nevada state capital is home to many quality restaurants. One more has been added to the list at Silver Oak Golf Course in Northwest Carson City.
Cadillac Cafe celebrated its grand opening Thursday afternoon, introducing Carson City to yet another dining option for locals and visitors alike.

August 18, 2017 (All day) Spend a week this Summer workin' on a National Historic Landmark railroad in Ely, and the best preserved standard gauge railroad in America. Experience what it was like during the golden age of railroading. Become an integral part of the preservation in-progress.
As part of the crew you will help get a train over the hill and back again safely. In the shop, you will have hands on experience maintaining the locomotives and cars. It is dirty, oily, greasy work. Without it, trains don't run. As part of the track crew, you will see up close what it takes to keep the railroad running.
Pony Express Limited at the Nevada Northern Railway

June 10, 2017 (All day) Ride back in time on the Pony Express Limited where you’ll learn the history of the Pony Express. Tickets include a program, specially printed envelopes and stamps. The program will feature a map of the Pony Express and highlight the stations in Nevada, of which a few still exist.
In fact, Nevada’s Sand Springs Station is considered the best-preserved Pony Express Station still in existence.

Father’s Day at the Nevada Northern Railway

June 18, 2017 (All day) The Nevada Northern Railway, a National Historic Landmark in Ely, Nev., offers free rides to all fathers on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 21. Treat dad to a trip aboard an historic passenger coach pulled by a locomotive. Passengers will enjoy a ride through remarkable Robinson Canyon. Trains depart at 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
