Carson City and Lyon County Deputies arrested a man suspected in a stabbing that happened early Friday morning at a Carson City bar.
Maxwell Thomas Scott Simon, 32, faces a felony charge of battery with a deadly weapon and is on $30,000 bail, after an altercation at the Whiskey Tavern on Highway 50 East in Carson City, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.
At 12:20 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office was notified that a man had been stabbed in the parking lot of the bar. When officers arrived at the scene, they identified the victim, Jaime Lee Rodriquez, 28 years old, with a stab wound to the back.
Witnesses reported the suspect had fled the area in a vehicle toward Lyon County. The victim was treated at the scene and Care Flighted to Renown Medical Center in Reno. He has been released from care as of early this morning.
Deputies from the Tri-County Gang Unit located Simon at a brothel in Mound House in Lyon County at 1:55 a.m. He was taken into custody without incident.
Detectives remain active on this matter. However, it is known that the two persons involved in this incident were intoxicated and unruly at the Wiskey Tavern and both were asked to leave. Both left the bar, but confronted each other in the parking lot a short time later, where the fight broke out and Rodriquez was stabbed.
