
A 44-year-old man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of third DUI, attempting to evade a police officer and other alleged offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
Wayne Dias was taken into custody at 2:42 p.m. He was also booked suspicion, felony possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor obstructing and failure to maintain a travel lane.
According to the booking report, deputies were dispatched to East Musser and East Proctor for a possible impaired driver. Dispatch advised witnesses observed a man stumbling out of a bar and getting into his vehicle, a black 2-door sedan. Dispatch advised the car was parked and then left the scene at 2:30 p.m. A witness began following the vehicle as it left, going southbound on Stewart Street, the report states.
A deputy observed the sedan traveling southbound on Stewart, and then turned eastbound on East 5th and passed Roop Street. At that time the deputy activated his emergency lights and got behind the sedan to conduct a traffic stop, the report states.
After attempting to initiated a traffic stop, the driver, Dias, continued eastbound on East 5th and was waving his hand inside the vehicle. The deputy began pursuing the suspect, who was failing to maintain his lane by crossing the yellow double solid lines in the roadway multiple times. The deputy observed the man brake abruptly multiple times while traveling on East Fifth, indicating possible signs of impairment, the report states.
As the suspect turned north onto Airport Road a deputy commanded the man to pull over from outside his patrol vehicle. The man stated he was going home and continued northbound on Airport Road. He then turned eastbound on Desatoya and stopped. The arresting deputy exited the vehicle and, at gun point, gave the man multiple commands to put his hands outside the vehicle.
The man did not comply with the commands and was pepper sprayed with little to no affect. He got out of his vehicle facing deputies with his hands at his side. He was places into cuffs, the report states.
While conducting a search incident to arrest, a deputy located a small clear baggie on the suspect, which came back positive for cocaine. The suspect was talking during the search and deputy could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath. During the search deputies discovered an additional small clear baggie, the report states.
The man was read his request for evidentiary testing for a blood draw due to the suspected alcohol in the man’s system. The deputy requested a search warrant for a blood tests, which was granted by a Carson City Judge. Bail: $20,000.

— A 31-year-old woman was arrested Saturday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance and lesser offenses.
Brook Ashley Gonzalez was taken into custody at 5:06 a.m. She was also booked for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, two contempt of court warrants and a failure to appear warrant.
According to the booking report, a deputy observed a Toyota SUV pulled into a gas station parked at the pumps. The driver and sole person in the vehicle was passed out, slumped over the wheel. The officer observed a methamphetamine bong in plain view. The woman eventually woke up was disoriented and groggy. She also had several extraditable warrants for her arrest, the warrant states.
During the investigations officers located the following drugs and paraphernalia in the search:
Six tooter straws, five methamphetamine pipes, two portable electronic scales, one pack of small dime bags; 16.4 grams of white powder in a small jar, 3.9 grams of white powdering substance in a small clear bag, a brown, powdery substance in a small clear bag, 1.5 grams of a white powdering residence in two small clear bags; 2 grams of an unknown stance wrapped in aluminum file and 16 grams of edible gummies in a small black bag.
All items were submitted to forensics for testing. She was arrested. Bail: $24,377.
— A 57-year-old man was arrested Saturday for misdemeanor department of alternative sentencing violation, littering and indecent contact. The man was intoxicated, a violation of DAS sentencing conditions, allegedly threw beer cans out the window and was observed by witnesses urinating in public. Bail: $4,774.
— A 33-year-old Fernley woman was arrested Saturday for suspicion of second DUI and failure to maintain a lane, both misdemeanor offenses.
According to the booking report a deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle that swerved over the solid white line in the area of East Fifth and Airport Road.
During the investigation, the officer observed a moderate odor of alcohol coming from her person, red watery eyes and slurred speech. The officer also observed several shooter bottles of vodka on the passenger floor board, the report states.
She agreed to standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on the tests. She was arrested for suspicion of DUI. She provided evidentiary breath tests of .375 and .395. Bail: $2,769.
