A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon after a fight occurred in the area of Dale Dr. involving multiple weapons.
According to the arrest report, Christian Montes-Viramontes was arrested after deputies were dispatched Thursday night to Dale Dr. on report of a fight occurring.
The reporting party stated there were two men in a physical altercation in the street and one had retrieved a gun, according to the report.
Deputies arrived on scene and could hear people yelling upon their approach, according to the report. Deputies located one woman and two men in a driveway and instructed all of them get on the ground, which they complied with, and were handcuffed.
Deputies spoke with Montes-Viramontes whose face and mouth were bloody, and an alcoholic odor was omitting from his person. Upon contact, Montes-Viramontes was holding a black machete sheath, where the machete was laying in the dirt a short distance behind him.
Montes-Viramontes at first asked for a lawyer, but also repeatedly stated his neighbor had hit him. The fire department arrived to evaluate his injuries.
Deputies spoke with neighbors, including the other male involved in the fight. He told deputies he was outside his residence when he heard Montes-Viramontes call him insults and he told Montes-Viramontes to leave his property. He told deputies at that point Montes-Viramontes attacked him, and the neighbor pushed him away and said he went to return to his porch, ending the fight.
He said Montes-Viramontes re-engaged, rushing the neighbor from behind. He said again, he attempted to end the fight until Montes-Viramontes grabbed a rock and threw it at the neighbor, grazing his head. He said at that point he “rushed” Montes-Viramontes and the fight continued.
Once they had broken up, he stated Montes-Viramontes went to his house and returned with a rifle, which was later identified as a pellet rifle.
Another neighbor stated a similar occurrence, and also told deputies that when she returned to her residence to secure her dog, she saw Montes-Viramontes pointing the rifle at her. She heard Montes-Viramontes “shooting” and told deputies she had home security cameras and agreed to share the videos with law enforcement by email.
Montes-Viramontes was arrested for felony assault with a deadly weapon for throwing a rock at the neighbor and “introducing the pellet gun to the scene” and was booked without incident.
