A planned NV Energy power outage is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 19 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. south of Sheldon Street, including Gold Hill, and south Virginia City in Storey County.
Storey County advises the following:
— Traffic may be limited in the area depending on the nature of the required work
— Estimated outage times could change once crews arrive on scene to begin work
— If you rely on electrically operated medical equipment, please have an alternate source of power on hand such as batteries
— If you plan to use a back-up power supply such as a generator, please visit nvenergy.com/safety for important safety reminders
— You may want to back up computer data, unplug televisions or switch off surge protectors as a precaution
— Food will last up to eight hours if refrigerators and freezers are kept closed
— Garage door openers and cordless phones will not operate during an outage
