Three men were arrested Tuesday for suspicion of misdemeanor obstructing an officer and other alleged offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.

Deputies were patrolling the 1000 block of North Stewart to assist with a possible residential burglary suspect. A description was given of a man wearing dark clothing and carrying a backpack.

Deputies located a man in the middle of North Plaza Street who fit the description of the burglary suspect. As the deputy was talking to the man in the middle of the road, they saw a backpack sitting beside a car in the parking lot of a gas station and five subjects in a car.

The investigation continued with deputies recognizing one of the men in the car. The deputy told the 32-year-old man, whom they had known from previous dealings, to step out of the vehicle.

The man wouldn’t comply with demands and pulled out a large bottle of vodka from the backseat and tried to unscrew the lid. The deputy told the man not to open the bottle and to step out. He did not step out of the vehicle.

He was told that if he didn’t step out of the vehicle, he would be pulled out. The man refused to exit the vehicle. The officer pulled him out by his shirt and placed him under arrest. This all took place with five people inside the vehicle and one person in the street behind deputies. The report notes deputies maintained control of all subjects for safety reasons.

Meanwhile, as part of the investigation, two other men, ages 45 and 35, were arrested for misdemeanor obstructing and being under the influence in public. Bail: $1,596 each. Bail for the 32-year-old man for obstructing, $1,137.
