Visitors to the Nevada State Museum and the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada got a cultural treat Saturday as the two organizations teamed up again to help ring in the Chinese New Year, celebrated worldwide Feb. 5-19, 2019.

Music, dances and cultural demonstrations were held in the Dema Guinn Concourse of the Nevada State Museum. Then a procession, some dressed in New Year’s costume, marched up N. Carson Street and cross to the Children’s Museum.

If you follow the Chinese Zodiac and you are short on funds, then 2019 could be your lucky year. According to the Zodiac, pigs are a symbol of wealth and fortune.
