UPDATE: Carson City Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies were called Sunday morning to a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in which the driver fled the scene in the 4000 block of North Carson Street. She was detained and later taken into custody on US-50 West after a brief pursuit.

Reported at 8:53 a.m. the incident is being investigated as a hit and run of a pedestrian. The male victim in the crash suffered from injuries to the leg and road rash and was taken to the hospital, according to first responders.

According to Carson City sheriff’s deputies who responded, the incident involves a dispute earlier between the male victim and the female driver. The male victim told deputies it was girlfriend and she was driving a Jeep.

The suspect vehicle fled the scene. Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies spotted the driver on Fairview traveling at a high rate of speed and then entered southbound I-580 before heading onto US-50 westbound toward Spooner Summit.

The driver was detained by Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies east of Golf Club Drive on US-50 West and later taken into custody for suspicion of felony eluding. Carson City detectives are investigating to determine other charges, according to CCSO Sgt. Morgan Tucker.
