In concert with similar organized bike rides around the country, around 75 local cyclists gathered Saturday at the capitol complex in Carson City in a memorial ride to Ash Canyon in honor of two people shot and killed by federal immigration agents in Minneapolis this month.
Organized by the local women’s bicycle group Sirens of Shred, the cyclists gathered in memory of Alex Pretti and Renée Nicole Good as part of a national unity ride.
“It’s a memorial ride where we are bringing the community to get people out riding, from the capitol to Ash Canyon,” said Chelsea Kincheloe, on behalf of Sirens of Shred, noting that Pretti had a love for mountain biking, the outdoors and community.
