While the beginning of their story is a mystery, we know for a fact that Stella and Betty Boop’s tale is written in love.

These two short-haired tabbies arrived at Catmandu under heartbreaking circumstances—left behind to fend for themselves when their owners moved away. Though most of their past is unknown, what’s clear is the deep, unshakable bond they share. We believe Stella, around two years old, is Betty Boop’s mother. Larger and appearing to be a young adult, Stella is very protective of Betty, shielding her from any potential harm and keeping a gentle eye on her to make sure she is safe.

Stella’s coat is a soft mosaic of spots, while Betty Boop sports elegant stripes that ripple like sunlight through tall grass. Both are beautiful, inside and out. Though they may be shy in unfamiliar settings or with new faces, once trust is earned, they blossom into affectionate, loyal companions. Betty Boop leans into Stella’s quiet confidence, and Stella, in turn, nurtures her daughter’s playful spirit while keeping her safe from danger.

They’re now spayed, fully vaccinated, and ready to start a new chapter—with a forever family who understands the value of patience, gentleness, and unconditional love. Because of their sensitive natures, Stella and Betty Boop would thrive in a calm, stable home without small children or excessive noise. They’re open to sharing space with other friendly cats after a slow introduction, but their feelings about dogs remain a mystery. What isn’t a mystery is this: Stella and Betty Boop belong together. Their bond is a gift, and we’re looking for a special adopter who will cherish them both.

If you’re ready to welcome two devoted hearts into your life, come meet Stella and Betty Boop. They’re waiting—not just for a home, but for someone who sees them as family.

We are open Friday through Sunday, between 11 am and 4 pm at 1829 Brown Street. We ask visitors to arrive by 3 pm so there’s plenty of time to get to know our kitties before adoptions close at 4. You will find an application to adopt on our website at: CatmanduCC.org.
