Nevada Arts Council Teaching Artist Studios – FREE Teaching Videos
With school starting any day now, you would think that writing and lettering might be on your mind, and your child’s mind.
Not all school districts require a child to learn how to write cursive lettering. I personally have put in a call to the Carson City School District offices and waiting for a call back to see what the policy is in the Carson City School district.
My name is Carol Foldvary-Anderson, I am a Calligrapher / Lettering Artist, listed on the Roster of the Nevada Arts Council Roster of Artists.
A few years ago I was honored to have received a grant from the Nevada Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts to produce a video on writing, specifically lettering titled: “Inspiring Lettering.” The video suggests working with 2 pencils and 2 rubber bands. To create the Roman style of lettering.
Most of us can find two pencils laying around the home, and if you can’t find rubber bands try taping the two sharpened pencils together.
“Inspiring Lettering” can be found on the Teaching Artist Studios with several other fabulous Teaching Videos available FREE to the public.
These virtual workshops are designed to create, perform, respond, and connect to arts and creativity in Nevada. The videos are accompanied by lesson plans and worksheets to deepen student engagement. Videos can be used by both educators and learners of all ages.
