A 16-year-old was charged Monday in First Judicial District Court with multiple alleged crimes including burglary, possession of a homemade unserialized semiautomatic firearm and accessories and drugs possession stemming from a Dec. 1, 2025 incident involving a stolen vehicle out of Lander County and vehicle burglaries in Carson City that involved three other juveniles.

Carson Now does not name juveniles who commit crimes. We had inadvertently published the wrong case and have since fixed the error. On Monday, the 16-year-old went before the Juvenile Division of the First Judicial Court in Carson City. During the appearance, he waived his rights in relation to the motion to certify as an adult for the criminal charges. The court order granting motion from the First Judicial Court was signed by District Court Judge Kristin Luis. The court order contains probable cause for the teen’s arrest for the criminal charges, according to the booking report.

The 16-year-old was booked on the criminal charges. The felony, gross misdemeanor and misdemeanor charges are:

— Felony, own or possess firearm by a prohibited person.

— Felony burglary while in possession of a firearm or deadly weapon constituting domestic violence.

— Felony burglary of a motor vehicle, first offense.

— Five felony counts violate regulations regarding modified semiautomatic firearms and parts for firearms.

— Felony possession of a controlled substance.

— Felony carry concealed explosive, firearm or other dangerous weapon without permit with a gang enhancement.

— Gross misdemeanor conspiracy to commit burglary

— Misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency or neglect of a minor

— Misdemeanor false statement, obstructing a public officer.
