On Monday, members of the community, local dignitaries, and child advocates gathered together for the official ribbon cutting and grand opening of the Carson City Rural Child Advocacy Center.

Held by the Chamber of Commerce, the celebration welcomed the center which assists children and youth residing in the Northern rural counties who have experienced abuse or exploitation.

“In a safe and child-friendly space, we offer effective, efficient, and compassionate services and a Multidisciplinary Team approach to providing Family Advocacy services, Forensic Interviewing services, and specialized Medical and Mental Health services,” a spokesperson said.
