Museum Manager Mary Ann Gunter.

By Denise Clodjeaux — Local Rotarians will learn about the The Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada at the next Rotary Club of Carson City meeting. Museum Manager Mary Ann Gunter will give the members a look inside the place where curiosity, creativity, and community come together.

The public is invited to attend the meeting which takes place Tuesday, August 12, at noon, inside the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom, 449 West King Street in Carson City.

Gunter will share a brief history of the museum, give a glimpse into the hands-on learning experiences it offers, and talk about exciting plans for the future.

“As the school year begins I am very excited to be starting up our Thursday programing again. With first Thursday being animal of the month, second Lego Club, third will be STEM, and fourth will be board and table games,” she said.

Gunter will also talk about the role the museum plays in our community.
“The Children’s Museum benefits the community by providing hands-on educational experiences that spark creativity, inspire curiosity, and feed the imagination, while also supporting early childhood development,” she explains. “It’s a welcoming space for families to learn and connect, it fosters social growth, strengthens local partnerships, and the economy.”
