The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce the well-deserved promotions of Ramon Marquez and Matt Smith.
Deputy Ramon Marquez has been promoted to the position of Sergeant. His promotion is a testament to his dedication, hard work, and leadership throughout his 7 years of service to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.
Sergeant Marquez has been assigned to the Patrol Division, the Special Enforcement Team, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and has served as a US Marshal Task Force Officer.
Lieutenant Matt Smith has stepped into the position of Captain, ready to lead with integrity, experience, and vision. Captain Smith has served the Carson City Sheriff’s Office for 20 years. His previous assignments have included overseeing the School Resources Program and the Traffic Enforcement Team.
He is currently managing the Carson City Detention Center and the Crisis Response Unit. Captain Smith’s unwavering dedication to the Carson City community has not gone unnoticed.
We also want to take a moment to recognize Captain Wall, who has served in a leadership capacity at the Carson City Sheriff’s Office for over 20 years.
His commitment, mentorship, and service has made a lasting impact on our agency and our community.
