Carson City-based non-profit Xquisite, which is dedicated to bringing freedom and empowerment to survivors of sex trafficking, sexual exploitation, sexual assault and domestic violence so survivors can live healthy flourishing lives, will hold an open house this Friday to provide the public information about its services and to unveil its new Advocacy Academy.
The public is invited to the event, happening Friday, June 13, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 310 N. Stewart Street in Carson City.
“We believe no one should ever have to walk through life and the issues that may arise alone. We commit to resources for survivors to live a life that is filled with potential and propel them into their dreams,” according to a news release from Xquisite.
“With that emphasis in mind, we have created a safe space that is survivor-centered. We are also committed to training advocates, and we have developed an Advocacy Academy that is online, self-paced and will provide the student with 40 hours of training. The academy is designed for anyone who would like to make a difference in their community within their agency or personally,” the release states.
Xquisite invites the community to the debut of its online Advocate Academy and to explore its services. Xquisite will provide a light snack and church tacos will be available for purchase.
