Single-lane closures will periodically take place Feb. 5-7 on U.S. 395 south of Gardnerville in Douglas County as part of a continuing Nevada Department of Transportation highway improvement project.

Single lane closures will periodically take place on short sections of U.S. 395 from the Nevada-California state line to Ray May Way between 6a.m.-6p.m. daily Feb. 5-7 as crews install fiber optic lines.

Traffic flaggers and pilot cars will alternate directions of traffic through the work zone.

While most delays will be minor, motorists should anticipate travel delays of up to 15 minutes, and are reminded to drive safely and follow all traffic signage.

The road work schedule is subject to change based on weather and other factors.

Periodic shoulder and single lane closures have been in place since early 2024 as the aging roadway surface of U.S. 395 has been reconstructed between the Nevada-California state line and Ray May Way.

The project represents an approximate $21 million investment in preserving and enhancing U.S. 395 south of Gardnerville.
