A 45-year-old woman was arrested for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI and felony drug offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
Angela Malone of Battle Mountain was arrested Monday, 8:33 p.m. after a traffic stop and investigation.
According to the report, a deputy observed a vehicle driving westbound on Highway 50 that swerved to the left into the center median multiple times as it drove westbound.
The officer conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Highway 50 and Airport Road. There were four occupants in the vehicle, with the drive identified as Angela Malone.
Malone advised deputies that she had been driving. She displayed objective signs of alcohol intoxication, including red and watery eyes, slurred speech and the odor of an alcoholic beverage, the report states.
There were multiple open containers of alcohol in the vehicle. She provided consent to search the vehicle. A probable cause search and consent was conducted. Inside Malone’s purse was a clear baggy containing approximately one gram of hallucinogenic mushrooms, according to the report.
She was arrested and taken to Carson City Jail and a field sobriety test was conducted. She was Mirandized where she advised she drank two drinks and that she quit drinking for three years and so one drink gets her drunk.
She showed signs of impairment on the standardized field sobriety tests. A preliminary breath test was conducted where she blew a .106. She was read the advisement for providing voluntary evidence and consented to evidentiary breath tests. She blew a .98, .96 and .93, the report states.
Also arrested in the investigation was Ayiana Malone, 23, after a probable cause search and consent of the vehicle. Deputies located a draw-string bag with a metal cylinder containing a small amount of suspected methamphetamine.
Ayiana Malone was advised of her Miranda rights and was asked if she understood her rights and she said yes. She told officers the draw-string bag was hers and items in the bag belonged to her. She said it was methamphetamine inside of the cylinder. She was arrested for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance.
