Ron Wood Family Resource Center is proud to announce its Champions of Children: Defenders of Families Award Dinner, an evening dedicated to honoring local heroes who have made a lasting impact on children and families in our community.

The fundraiser will take place on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at the Carson City Casino Fandango. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner and a special program featuring nationally recognized comedian Kat Simmons.

Tickets are available for $130 per person, or $800 for a table of eight. All proceeds directly support critical services for abused and neglected children and help strengthen families throughout Carson City and rural Nevada

“This evening is about celebrating the people in our community who step up when it matters most,” said Scott Morgan, Executive Director of Ron Wood Family Resource Center. “Because of the generosity of supporters like the Reno Toy Run and our valued partners, including Campagni Auto Group, we are able to provide hope, stability, and real support to families facing crisis. Every act of giving — large or small — changes lives.”

Honoring Those Who Make a Difference

This year’s event recognizes community leaders and partners whose compassion and commitment have helped the organization expand its reach and deepen its impact for vulnerable children and families.
