This is your second chance at a truly wonderful little cat. She was adopted about 6 weeks ago. Her adopter was fabulous. He loved her and they were doing great, but his partner was exceedingly and unceasingly mean to her. She was returned after 2 weeks for her safety and well-being. After a few days of TLC at Catmandu, she rebounded and her sweet nature came back full force.
We call her darling Daphne. If you spend just a few minutes with her, you’ll understand why.
Daphne is a beautiful 2-year-old short-haired calico tabby (Cabbie) with a gentle soul and lots of love to give. She is incredibly sweet and affectionate, although she does take a couple of minutes to warm up when meeting someone new. Once she feels comfortable, though, get ready for pets, snuggles, purrs, and plenty of affection. Daphne is a true cuddle bug who simply wants to love and be loved.
This little girl has been through so much! She was orphaned when her beloved guardian passed away less than a year ago from leukemia. Her guardian’s mother desperately tried to keep Daphne by sneaking her into the apartment, hoping she could give her a safe place to stay. But when the landlord discovered the cats, she was given an impossible choice: the cats had to go, or she had to go.
With a little patience, reassurance, and love, Darling Daphne blossoms into a sweet and loving friend.
She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccines. She isn’t a huge fan of other cats, although she did successfully live with another cat. She would absolutely prefer to be your one and only 4-legged friend. She has not been around dogs.
Daphne would do best in a quieter home without small children — ideally with someone who has lots of love, patience, and affection to give. She needs someone who will give her the time and reassurance she needs and let her hide while she gets comfortable. Daphne needs to feel safe and cherished again.

Catmandu is open for adoptions this weekend, Friday through Sunday from 11:00 AM–4:00 PM. Please arrive no later than 3:00 PM so you have plenty of time to relax, spend some time with the cats, and get to know your potential new family member before adoptions close. Please note we will be closed Oct. 30th thru Nov 1st due to the Nevada Day/Halloween weekend.
