A Coleville, Calif., man was arrested early Thursday for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery after fighting with his sister, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

According to the arrest report, deputies made a traffic stop at 12:43 a.m. on a speeding vehicle being driven by the victim of a domestic battery involving her brother.

The woman said she and her brother engaged in a verbal argument and that the man lost control, held her to the ground and hit her with his fist, the arrest report states. A deputy observed the victim had a fresh laceration on the upper bridge of her nose with wet and freshly dried blood around her face and on her hands.

A deputy went to the residence in the 3200 block of Imperial Way to speak with the man. The deputy observed the suspect had fresh cuts to his right hand knuckles with freshly dried blood that was consistent with the injury to the victim’s nose. The man said he and his sister had gotten into an argument and that when he had her on the ground, she hit him in the left eye. The arresting deputy observed some slight discoloration to the left eye. He admitted to the deputy that he did hit his sister, the arrest report states. He was arrested at 1:12 a.m. for suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.

In other arrests:
— A 62-year-old transient was arrested Thursday, 4:35 a.m. for misdemeanor violation of a suspended sentence warrant. According to the arrest report, deputies were called to respond to an intoxicated man who was to be taken for civil protective custody.

The man had been at the hospital with an alcohol level of .401. The man had been released from jail on Wednesday with conditions to possess or consume alcohol. Bail: $1,000.

— A 34-year-old man was arrested Wednesday, 11:51 p.m. in the area of Roop and Long streets for misdemeanor warrants alleging contempt of court and battery. The warrants were issued in July 2016 out of Carson City and East Fork Township courts. Bail: $1,000.

— A 40-year-old Herlong, Calif., man was booked into jail Wednesday, 3:15 p.m. for a misdemeanor domestic battery warrant issued in April 2011 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $5,000.

— A 47-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 7:08 p.m. in the 300 block of East William Street for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI. According to the arrest report, deputies and the Carson City Fire Department were called to the parking lot of a fast food restaurant on William Street after a man appeared to be passed out in a running vehicle.

Deputies spoke with the man who identified himself and stated he was “very tired” and fell asleep in the vehicle. The deputy could smell a slight odor of alcohol coming from the man’s breath. He admitted to drinking two beers earlier. He showed signs of impairment on field sobriety tests he agreed to take. He provided a preliminary breath sample of .106. Because the man was in a running vehicle, and considered in physical control of operating it, he was arrested for suspicion of DUI. He agreed to provide blood samples at jail. Bail: $1,137.

— A 36-year-old Minden man was arrested Wednesday, 6:43 p.m. in the 1500 block of Fire Box Road for gross misdemeanor suspicion of child neglect/endangerment, and misdemeanor domestic battery and being an ex-felon failing to register. According to the arrest report, deputies were called after a report that the man had arrived at the victim’s residence and took their 2-year-old son.

The victim said she had tried to stop her ex-boyfriend and that he shoved her in the chest and fled the home with their child, who did not have socks and shoes on.

The man said he did not enter the home and there wasn’t a conflict with his ex-girlfriend. He provided conflicting statements during the interview process, the arrest report states and was arrested for suspicion of the charges. Bail: $5,879.

— A 56-year-old Mound House man was booked into jail Wednesday, 8:05 p.m. for a misdemeanor failure to appear traffic warrant issued Jan. 23, 2017 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $240.
