I Love Carson City

Area you ready for some football? North, south, east, west, or downtown: there’s a good time to be found: drink specials and football squares everywhere. If you couldn’t care less about the Patriot-Falcons match-up, then consider BINGO for CASI or bowling and some Valentine cookie decorating. Sundays also offer an early morning ride with Muscle Powered and some no-stress yoga. Keep reading for even more lazy day fun.

- 15th Annual 4-H Fabric and Rummage Sale in the Fuji Park Exhibition Hall (9am-1pm)
- Muscle Powered Weekly Bike Ride – Meet in the south parking lot of Fremont Elementary School, next to the Linear Ditch Trail (meet at 9am; consists of two loops 10-15 miles long each, this will allow a rider to do 10-15 miles or 20-30 miles; ride pace will vary depending on rider level, but usually about 12-16 mph; All riders must have a bicycle in safe working condition, helmet, and closed toed shoes. - Breakfast and Bowl at Carson Lanes (9am-12pm; breakfast and unlimited bowling until noon $13, $8 kids 8 and younger)
- Community Yoga with Allison Reitz at Comma Coffee (9am-10am; $10 cash only; beginners are welcome; Bring your mind, body, and mat; a limited number of extra mats will be available)
- New Year’s Art Show and ’Road to the Future’ Exhibit in the Nevada Artists Association Gallery at the Brewery Arts Center (10am-4pm)
- Free Valentine Cookie Decorating at Genoa Candy and Coffee in Carson Lanes (10am-7:30pm)
- Western Nevada Futbol Club Inter-squad Scrimmage and Player Meet and Greet at Dayton High School: 335 Dayton Valley Rd, Dayton (10am-12:30pm; Admission is free and there will be season ticket give aways and autograph signing after)
- Superbowl Party with Buffet and Golf at Empire Ranch Golf Course (Shotgun start 10am, Superbowl Party 3:30pm; $35 includes 18 holes, cart, party, $13 party only)
- Bingo fundraiser for CASI at Carson City Senior Center (doors 11am, game play 12:30pm-4pm; $10 buy in, extra packs $5, Special games $1 each; 50/50 raffle and door prizes; lunch available; must be 21+)
- Kids Eat Free at the (Firkin and) Fox Brewpub (11am-10pm; with purchase of adult entree)
- Fundraiser for baby Ava Gray at the Blue Bull (donations to the family earn raffle tickets; booze basket drawing Sunday night)
- Valentine Craft at the Carson City Library (1pm-2pm; All ages, under 9 years old must be accompanied by someone 13+)
- Music Jam Sunday at A to Zen: 1803 N. Carson St. (1pm-3pm; we try to keep it simple so that musicians of all ages and skill levels can participate. We welcome music of all genres and styles; Audience is welcome)
- Weekly Pool Tournament at Whiskey Tavern (register 1pm; 2pm start; $10 per person)
- Pool Tournament at Remedy’s (2pm-5pm; $5 buy-in; APA Rules)
- Story Time at Genoa Candy and Coffee in Carson Lanes (2pm)
- Dayton Valley Chili Cook-off and Super Bowl Party at the Dayton Valley Golf Club, Dayton (Sampling begins at 12pm, Judging begins at 1pm; Super Bowl Party to follow; Tastings $5; Raffle and Silent Auction; Benefit for the Dayton Food Pantry)
- Miss Douglas County and Carson City Pageant at the Carson City Community Center (3pm)
- Live Music with Rock River in the Carson Valley Inn Cabaret, Minden (6pm-10pm)
