As we head into the Labor Day weekend, many residents will want to get their last shot at a beach day holiday before the cold comes.

However, a reminder to all that due to the presence of toxic algae blooms, Lahontan reservoir is not safe at this time for both people and pets.

The water should be avoided entirely as it contains hazardous levels of Cyanotoxins.
