The Carson City Board of Supervisors is seeking applications from persons interested in serving on the Regional Transportation Commission. The RTC is the policy making body on transportation issues within Carson City who’s purpose is to establish priorities and recommend appropriate funding for transportation improvement projects.
The members of the Regional Transportation Commission also serve on the Carson Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Board to discuss and take action on federal monies spent on transportation and transit projects within the Carson Metropolitan Planning Area.
There are two positions open, each for terms that expire Dec. 2017.
The Commission meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. after the adjournment of the CAMPO meeting. Applicants should be prepared for a minimum commitment of up to ten hours a month. The position shall serve without compensation.
Applications will be accepted until Nov. 19, 2015. Interviews for this volunteer position are tentatively planned to be held at the regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015.

Carson City Audit Committee
Meanwhile, the Board of Supervisors is seeking applications from individuals who may be interested in serving on the Audit Committee as a Citizen-At-Large. There are two open positions, each for a term that expires December 2017.
Applicants must be:
— A resident of Carson City
— Have experience in financial services, public accounting, and/or governmental auditing, and current knowledge of public laws and regulations governing an audit committee.
— Shall not accept any consulting, advisory, or other compensatory fees from the city and may not be an affiliated person with the city or any subsidiary thereof.
The role of the Carson City Audit Committee is to maintain oversight of the auditing function, internal and external, resulting in increased integrity and efficiency of the audit processes for the city and the city’s system of internal controls and financial reporting.
The committee meetings are held at least quarterly. Applicants should be prepared for a minimum commitment of up to three hours a month. The positions shall serve without compensation.
