Summer is almost here, and for many parents that means the annual question: How do I keep my kids active, engaged and off their screens while school is out?
Western Nevada College has the answer.
This summer, WNC’s popular College for Kids program returns to the Carson City campus with exciting opportunities for young learners ages 8–14 to build confidence, make new friends, and discover new passions through hands-on adventure.
From outdoor leadership to action-packed athletics, WNC’s summer camps are designed to create unforgettable experiences while helping kids grow socially, physically and emotionally.
Leadership Start Here
For kids who love solving problems, working with others, and stepping up as leaders, iLead Camp offers a week packed with outdoor exploration, team-building activities, and real-world leadership challenges.
Led by local educator Rayce Malmed, iLead encourages campers to build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and discover what it means to lead with empathy and purpose.
Whether your child is naturally outgoing or still finding their voice, iLead helps them develop skills that last long after summer ends.
Adventure, Movement and Fun
For kids who never stop moving, WNC’s Summer Sports Camps, offered in partnership with Skiing is Believing, deliver full days of energy, challenge, and discovery.
Campers can experience activities like:
Mountain biking
Hiking
Martial arts
Archery
Team sports
Fitness challenges
Outdoor skill-building
Under the guidance of experienced coaches and mentors, children build athletic confidence while learning teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship.
A Safe and Supportive Environment
Parents can feel confident knowing WNC’s camps are built with safety in mind. Programs are hosted on WNC’s Carson City campus with small student-to-staff ratios and experienced instructors who are passionate about youth development.
These aren’t just camps — they’re opportunities for kids to try something new, challenge themselves, and return home each day with stories to tell.
WNC’s College for Kids camps run throughout the summer, with multiple session dates available.
Spots fill quickly each year, so early registration is encouraged.
