UPDATE: Carson City Fire Department responded Monday afternoon to a reported fire in the attic of a residence in the 4300 block of Angelo Court just off of East Bonanza Drive.

According to Carson City dispatch, the reporting party said smoke was in the attic of the residence that was coming from an electrical cord. Dispatch alerted firefighters at 1:24 p.m.

Carson City Fire Department arriving on scene report there was no smoke coming from outside of the residence. Firefighters met with the homeowners and made entry, where there was appeared to be light smoke coming from the attic. Firefighters scanned the ceiling and attic, looking for the source. NV Energy also responded.

At 1:53 p.m. a Carson City Fire Department Battalion chief reported the fire was out, and three units would remain to do overhaul. No word yet on structural damage. The cause is under investigation. Some fire engines have returned to quarters.
