The Carson City School District and Mark Twain Elementary School are proud to recognize Paula Baum as its December Community Partner of the Month. Ms. Baum was recognized as a Champion Level partner for her ongoing commitment to supporting local schools and for her generous in-kind contributions to enhance the educational and cultural experiences for students in Carson City.
Ms. Baum is considered a Community Partner at the Champion Level because her support aligns with three Strategic Plan goals.
Goal 1:
Ms. Baum previously taught Pre-K for 16 years. Since her retirement, she has spent her time volunteering in Pre-K classrooms for the last 3 years. She volunteers in Mrs. Turner’s Pre-K class two days a week. She provides teachers at Mark Twain Elementary essential classroom resources that support effective instruction and engaging curriculum strategies. These contributions directly enhance teacher morale, helping staff excel in their roles.
Goal 2:
Her knowledge and energy is invaluable and is such a welcome addition to the Pre-K classroom. She contributes to the classroom and the school as a whole by providing educational support to each and every student. This resource strengthens opportunity knowledge, self-efficacy and critical academic skills.
Goal 3:
Ms. Baum enjoys seeing former students and parents still recognize her. She maintains a positive attitude and a genuine ability to help young students learn many basic skills. Additionally, her connection with parents is inviting and engaging to help families be more involved in their child’s education.
As part of its Community Partner Program, the school district features a local business, organization or individual each month for their commitment to helping schools and children have better opportunities and experiences in alignment with the district’s Strategic Plan goals.
The Community Partner Recognition System aims to build a stronger, more engaged community dedicated to the success and well-being of its students. Additionally, it acknowledges and celebrates the valuable contributions of our community partners as they align with the goals found in the Carson City School District Strategic Plan, Empower Carson City 2027.
- Goal 1: Exceptional Staff
- Goal 2: Curriculum that Matters
- Goal 3: Engaged Parents and Families
- Goal 4: Healthy Generations of Carson Students
- Goal 5: Community in Full Partnership
The school district looks forward to continuing this valuable partnership and encourages other community members and businesses to consider how they can contribute to the success of students.
