Two 19-year-old Gardnerville teens were arrested in the area of S. Carson Street and Highway 50 E. on Christmas Eve just after 5 p.m. after dispatch advised there was a white pickup truck blocking traffic, and that both occupants appeared to be unconscious inside.
Upon arrival, deputies went to the window and observed two males asleep in the truck, according to the arrest report, with the truck running and stopped within the travel lane.
Deputies found the doors locked and began knocking on the windows, but the driver (identified as AB) would not wake up. Eventually, the passenger (identified as MP) woke up, who then in turn woke AB.
Deputies asked AB to unlock and open the doors, and he complied. However, when deputies asked MP to step out of the vehicle, he refused.
According to the report, an NHP trooper who also arrived on the scene asked MP to step out of the vehicle “approximately four times” before he “gained physical control of [MP] by the wrist” and “eventually” MP exited the car.
Inside the vehicle, deputies located two bottles of vodka on the floorboard of the passenger seat.
Deputies asked MP if he’d be willing to take a preliminary breath test, and he said no.
He was taken into custody and transported to the Carson City Jail where jail staff administered a PBT resulting in a 0.333% BrAC level. Due to the high level, MP was taken to the hospital for medical clearance.
Meanwhile, deputies asked AB if he would be willing to perform sobriety tests to which he complied. He showed multiple signs of impairment during the test, and when he took a PBT, it resulted in a BrAC of .051.
Both were taken into custody and for minor consumption of alcohol, being underage, while AB was also booked on DUI first and driving with an open container, and MP was also booked on obstruction/resisting.
Bail for AB: $2,466
Bail for MP: $2,274

Carson City woman arrested for child endangerment, DUI after crashing vehicle with young child inside
A 23-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the 3700 block of Imperial Way Christmas Eve night for DUI first and gross misdemeanor child endangerment.
According to the arrest report, Hailey Marie Rose Aguilera was arrested after deputies were dispatched to Imperial Way on report of a crash.
Upon arrival, deputies observed a vehicle with major front-end damage and it appeared to have crashed into another vehicle.
After exiting their patrol vehicle, the reporting deputy said they were flagged down by two residents who said the driver, identified as Aguilera, and her young child were in their garage.
Deputies met with Aguilera, who deputies reported was “hysterically crying,” but who advised there were no injuries to either her or her child. The deputy looked over the child and noted there was no blood or sign of injury.
They said they noticed Aguilera had slurred speech and red watery eyes, and they could smell an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from her person.
Deputies retrieved Aguilera’s cell phone from her vehicle so she could call a family member to retrieve the young child, and while in the vehicle, they stated they found several small “shooters” of empty liquor bottles.
Aguilera agreed to participate in field sobriety tests. She said she’d consumed three “normal shots” of vodka, and that the empty bottles in her vehicle were “from another time” according to the report.
During the field sobriety tests, she showed multiple signs of impairment and provided a preliminary breath test resulting in a PBT of .209 BrAC.
The deputy said they waited with Aguilera while they said goodbye to her child, and once the child was out of view, they placed her under arrest and transported her to the jail.
She was booked on child endangerment and DUI first and the case was forwarded to Child Protective Services.
Bail: $4,137
