After last night’s winds whipped through the capital city, we should see a reprieve after 12 p.m. today, Thursday Dec. 26 according tot he National Weather Service.

The high today will be 48 degrees, and we’ll see a decent amount of breezy showers followed by rain between 7 p.m. and 4 a.m. Definitely a day to stay inside if you’re able! If you’re not able, pack a good coat and some boots to keep dry.

Showers and breezy winds will continue through Sunday night, with the highs ranging from 49 to 53. Lows will stay above freezing until Sunday night, where they’ll dip into 25 degrees.

Snow will continue to fall above 6,200 feet tonight, and between 7,000 and 7,800 feet for the rest of the week.

If you’re wanting for some valley snow like I am, you’ll probably be disappointed, so let’s hope for those temperatures to fall below freezing so the rain turns to flakes! At this point however, it is unlikely.

We’ll continue to update you as the weather progresses. It is probably a good idea to bring in any unsecured items from outside due to the winds for now.
