The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail on Dec. 16 and Dec. 17, 2025. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Amandeep Singh, 32, of Carson City, was arrested at 10:46 a.m. Monday on suspicion of felony domestic battery with strangulation at an apartment complex on College Parkway.

According to the arrest report, deputies responded to the apartment complex where a victim reported that Singh became angry after finding messages on the victim’s phone.

The victim stated that during the argument, Singh grabbed them by the throat.

The victim said they did not lose consciousness and were able to breathe when Singh grabbed them. They said Singh has physically abused them in the past, including punching them in the face causing them to lose teeth.

A deputy noted red marks on the victim’s neck and a red mark on Singh’s hand.

Singh told deputies the victim tried to hug him and he “pushed” them away which is why they had marks on their throat. Bail was set at $15,000.

Elko man arrested for felony domestic battery with strangulation

Edmundo Castillo, 55, of Elko, was booked Monday for suspicion of felony domestic battery with strangulation.

A deputy met with a victim who alleged that on the previous night, Edmundo Castillo pinned them down in a closet and squeezed their throat.

The victim stated the action prevented them from being able to breathe and that they could not yell or inhale.

The victim stated they did not remember if they lost consciousness. The deputy observed bruising on the victim’s neck consistent with the account. Bail was set at $15,000.

Carson City woman arrested on felony child abuse warrant

Alina Shpileva, 29, of Carson City, was arrested at 8:09 a.m. Monday on two outstanding warrants, one of which was for felony child abuse/neglect.

Deputies served the warrants at a residence on Latigo Drive.

The warrants included a felony warrant for child abuse and neglect issued by the Carson City Justice Court, with a $5,000 bond, and a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear issued by the Sparks Municipal Court.

Pair arrested following traffic stop for driving while revoked, drugs

A 36-year-old Long Beach, Calif., man and a 36-year-old Carson City woman were arrested Monday afternoon following a traffic stop in the parking lot of a pharmacy on East William Street. A deputy stopped the vehicle after noticing its registration had expired in August.

The 36-year-old man was arrested for driving with a revoked license and failure to install an interlock device.

During a search involving a K9 unit, a deputy located a glass container with a crystalline substance in the woman’s purse. The woman admitted the substance was methamphetamine.

She was arrested for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia, and an outstanding warrant.

Reno woman arrested for suspected meth

A 51-year-old Reno woman was arrested early Tuesday morning for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy initiated a traffic stop on South Carson Street for a lighting violation.

During the investigation, a K9 unit alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle according to the arrest report. Deputies located 9.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine and small plastic bags in the woman’s purse.

The woman claimed a man in the vehicle gave her the drugs two days prior, but later admitted she typically smokes methamphetamine. Bail was set at $2,500.

Carson City man arrested for trespassing, obstruction

A 53-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday morning for suspicion of obstructing a peace officer, trespassing, and disorderly conduct.

Deputies were dispatched to a park on East Musser Street after a ranger reported a man had been sleeping in a dugout for two days.

When a deputy asked the man for his identification, he refused to provide his name or date of birth and “passively resisted” as the deputy placed them in handcuffs according to the report. The man was later identified through a booking photo. Bail was set at $1,000 for each of the three charges.
